Why take a Workshop?
Workshops explore a particular theme that pertains to your needs.
Typically a workshop consists of a powerpoint presentation of images and ideas relating to the topic.
Then guidelines are given for you to make personal assessments of your own challenges.
You are then given a variety of yogic skills and techniques that will help you deepen your yoga practice as well help you in your daily life.
Each workshop helps you to investigate and come to understand your own body and mind more clearly.
Many of the insights gained through a workshop are practices that can be engaged in everyday life, including skills to engage in a more positive engagement of all circumstances of your life.

Yin & Yang Yoga Workshop:
Cultivating Power and Ease in Life
Sat. Dec. 6/08 2-5 pm
$30 (or $27 if payment is received 1 week in advance)
Most yoga classes are 'Yang' in that they engage muscles, and strong outward flowing energy and breath. Yin yoga is the complement, wherein one relaxes muscles, holds poses for longer, threby stretching connective tissue. The breathing also cultivates mindfulness meditation throught he body.
A verbal and visual presentation will help you connect with your body's fascial system (connective tissues) and learn its relevance to flexibility and the flow throught he meridain lines of the body. You will also come to understand how yang muscular energy helps cultivated strength and stability.
You will engage in a practice that interweaves both Yin and Yang yoga so you can experience and benefit from both approaches. You will experience different pacign and breathing patterns for a deeper understanding of when and why these complimetnary forms of yoga are most beneficial for you, balancing the physical, emotional & mental aspects of our being.

Come join a group of like minded souls who want to cultivate the mind and heart of joy & well-being. Connect deep within through various forms of meditation. We begin with a integrative meditation technique (modern form of Yoga Nidra), wherein you are guided into a state of deep relaxation; sometimes self inquiry during the practice helps guide one to personal insights. This is followed by a simple breathing technique, which further concentrates the mind; then chanting, sitting & walking meditation. A guided meditation focusing on the evening's theme will conclude the gathering. Themes include; trust, vitality, courage, compassion, creativity & wisdom. Meditation cultivates care of the inner dimension of our Being.
