Shrine Series was inspired by the desire to embue everyday subjects and objects with a sense of the sacred, thereby elevating the status of say, a hand, to that of the divine. The hand, engaging in everyday actions has the potential to heal, to magnatize energy to manifest a goal or to receive with gratitude.

These mixed media art pieces, are made of birch plywood, with encaustic, ceramic molded parts, glazes, paper, foamcore, and other elements such as wire, sewing trims and beads. Several have an accompanying poem on a shaped element below the actual shrine, guiding the interpretation of what is experienced.
