CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

LEVEL 1 & GENTLE YOGA
This is beginning level yoga - to learn foundation postures (asanas): standing, sitting and supine (on your back). Focus is on building strength and flexibility suitable to your body and aligning your breathing with movements. You begin the process of moving inward and creating change from the inside out.

RESTORE WITH RUMI YOGA is a gentle practice that engages the body –mind and breath in a series of foundational poses which are used as a source of contemplation, alongside the poetry of Rumi. This union of being in the body & breath while contemplating the mystical aspects of life will rebalance you to the inner world, creating perspective for the daily challenges of the outer world.

Level 1 & 2 YOGA classes are for folks with some yoga experience or who exercise and thus will more easily learn the foundational postures. All classes have ’flow’ elements with variations on sun salutations, to warm the body and unite the energy-spirit of the breath with the movements of the body.

PILATES focuses on developing deep torso strength and flexibility, as well as breath control to sustain engagement and alignment with physical movements. Developing "CORE" abdominals is known to improve posture. reduce the risk of injury and increase balance and strength – ultimately leading to a greater awareness of your body. All levels are welcome.

Level 2 YOGA Vinyasa Flow with Grace
Vinyasa means "to place in a special way."  Using that principle, this more vigorous class explores how asana can be linked with breath to free energy in the body, mind, and spirit.  Honoring the unique beauty that each participant brings to class, we will use universal principles of alignment to find dynamism and movement in static postures and stillness in sun salutations . Expand your confidence by moving towards more advanced asanas, included inversions and backbends.

Level 2-3 YOGA; Deepening Wisdom
This class assumes yogis practice yoga consistently & have reached a level of awareness that allows them to engage in more advanced asanas, including backbends, hand balances, and inversions (head & hand stands …). Heat is created through flowing variations of Sun Salutation, followed by a compliment of asanas that focus on evolving the body-mind-spirit to a deeper integration of our life purpose. More advanced practices such as mudra, bandha, pranayama & meditation are sometimes woven into the class. Build courage, strength, flexibility & peace of mind.

YIN YOGA practice stimulates the connective tissues such as ligaments, bones and the joints of the body; the poses are held for longer than in typical classes, so that these areas receive deep stimulation, creating better circulation, lubrication & stretching, thereby creating the possibility for healing. Suitable for almost all students, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic, muscular (yang) styles of yoga. Yin also deeply relaxes the nervous system & cultivates a meditative mind.

ADULT/PARENT & TODDLERS YOGA
This class welcomes a parent (mom or dad) or an adult caregiver to bring their little one (18 mo. to 4 years) to have a fun time while they are being introduced to yoga. Adult and child have the opportunity to explore new ways of relating through the body-mind, cultivating balance through breath, postures and fun games.

CHILDRENS YOGA (7-12 Years)& Adult & Toddler Yoga
Yoga is a great way for children to learn to take care of their bodies, emotions and mind. They practice linking postures with breathing in fun ways. Yoga class teaches children of all ages lifelong skills which help create a healthy body, more stable emotions, clear thinking and overall greater well being. The adult and toddler yoga is also a great way for parents and kids to meet each other.
